There’s a reason the Synthace lab team calls Luci the “mother of the Fluents”, especially when it comes to high-throughput processes for protein purification. They count on her to make sure the Fluents cooperate with the Synthace platform to perform various lab experiments.

She’s also known for her Slovak sayings, which she translates literally into English—a prime source of entertainment and intrigue for all in her vicinity.

Experience and background: Luci has a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nottingham. Prior to joining Synthace, Luci was a Senior Scientist at OXGENE, where she led engineering of mammalian cell lines for lentiviral production.

Fatima’s celebrated for her “get stuff done” attitude at the bench. Aside from her careful work testing and optimizing the Synthace platform, she always finds time to offer an extra pair of hands to her fellow lab team members who need it

And if anyone can’t find a piece of equipment in the lab, Fatima was probably the one who moved it. All in the name of the ongoing lab sustainability clean-up, she’ll claim…

Experience and background: Fatima did her undergrad in Biomedical Sciences at King's College London, followed by a Master's in Immunology at Imperial College London. She was also at the center of the action during the pandemic, where she worked in a COVID-19 diagnostics laboratory.
